Former Nursing Student Extern at University of Kentucky Healthcare
over 1 year ago
Practice, practice, practice! The night before your interview, reflect on all the nursing experiences you've had. Think about situations you've encountered within the hospital (both with patients and members of the healthcare team) that have stuck out in your mind. You will be asked situational questions. Such as "Sometimes there is conflict between the different members of the healthcare team. How do you best handle conflict and what would you do in a situation such as this?" Things like that. Identify both your strengths and weaknesses as a nursing student. Know why you want to be a nurse. Also, what makes you stand out against all the other applicants? Be confident in yourself! BUT also recognize that you are still a student and you're always learning new things!
