Did anyone start working at any of Amazon's Fulfillment centers during college? What motivated you to apply vs. a part-time job on campus?

Former Warehouse Associate at Amazon Fulfillment

I worked at amazon during my time at San Jose State because the hours were very manageable with my school schedule. I worked the graveyard shift: (Thursday- Sunday: 9 P.M - 2 A.M). They also give you a amount of hours per quarter (approx 3 months) where you can miss work. This can be very useful when planning ahead for vacation/finals/ etc... You get a set amount hours which is around 40 hours the first quarter. Then each following quarter you get an around additional 20 hours which can be accumulative but caps off around 80.

Former Seasonal Fulfillment Associate at Amazon Fulfillment Center

I was motivated to work at Amazon because I was looking for summer work that I knew would keep me busy. My previous job had too much down time, so being a Fulfillment Associate was a very nice change of pace.

Former Warehouse Worker at Amazon Fulfillment

After fall semester in freshmen year I wanted a job and in high school I always saw signs around Newark talking about the high pay rate of Amazon. I tried applying in high school but it was only a full time job so I couldn't commit all my time into it. During winter break I had a lot of time on my hands and I really wanted a job to put on a resume.
