First off, an Electrical Design Intern is responsible for drafting and/or editing Electrical schematics. In the case of drafting a new schematic, an electrical engineer comes up with the circuit. They do all the math involved like if certain loads will have enough current, if the voltage supplied can drive all the loads, etc. Once the engineer figures that out, they communicate this information to you and the electrical designer draws the circuit in a drafting program like MicroStation or AutoCAD. As an electrical designer, it is your job to accurately and neatly communicate this information to a contractor. The electrical designer is like a middle man between the engineer who designs something and the contractor who actually puts it together.
