Former Academic Tutor at Purdue University

I saw the tutor position through my program's job email and then I applied to the academic tutor for the AG 307 Environmental Hydrology class immediately by emailing the professor of this class. The professor remembered me since I worked very hard when I was in this class so she cc-ed my email to the person who took in charge. Then, the person in charge asked me to meet her in her work place. I'd assume this is the interview that you would like to hear about? To be honest, I didn't prepare much for this interview. But I know this is my favorite class during that semester and I definitely want to help others for this class.
She didn't ask me super hard interview questions. Basically, she went over what we are going to do for this position. And she asked me what do I think I would do if the student didn't understand what I try to explain. The basic take away is you should always be nice to your students, encourage them, try to adjust your teaching methods to match their learning style, and don't blame them if they didn't get things right.
I hope this is helpful. Good luck with the interview!
