Since it's an intensive program with two jam-packed summers, you'll definitely be pretty busy! It's basically an internship with a regular 8-hour day, and some readings, discussions, and seminars during weeknights. However, you don't work Fridays and instead you have seminars during the first summer. During the second summer, there is GRE prep class on Fridays, and you are mainly free for the rest of the Friday. It's definitely a busy time, but you will certainly have free time for other activities.
