Former Student Researcher at Utah Valley University

My degree helped me to do interdisciplinary work with other fields. I worked a lot with the geology and environmental science/Earth science department because it helps to have botanist on field excursions and putting plant ecology in perspective in regards to project about rocks or water. You can tell a lot about the soil, water and environmental degredation based on plant species alone. It can help narrow down collection sites, add a new dimension to a research question or help fellow students understand why plants matter in their project.
