Financial Advisor Summer Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Get in the office at 8:30 and work on the computer until 5pm. There's a hour lunch break. Also there are days where sales people from other companies come and try to pitch you their services (free lunch and good experience).
Currently, I am going through training in order to prepare for the role. However, my summer analyst role with BAML will look a lot different compared to an analyst in New York. Throughout the summer I get to assist in building plans for clients, shadow people from various sectors of the office, and working on projects with the intern group. So a rough layout of my day would be getting into the office at 8:30 am checking emails and logging onto the systems I will be using. From 9:00am- 12:00 pm I will be either in a class learning about a financial topic just like a new hire would or shadowing someone in a particular sector and assisting with their work. At noon we either have a 30 min or hour lunch break, then after that the rest of the day is spent working on the group projects. I have two, one with my intern group in my office and one with interns nationwide. With my nationwide project, I am working with other interns in Maryland.
