Former Reliability Engineer at Hess Corporation

My degree has been essential in helping me understand the basics of rotating equipment and how to improve design to ultimately improve reliability. I work on a diverse team which is made up of Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical and Petroleum Engineers each of us uses our unique skill set to look at problems with a slightly different light. My degree gave me a great baseline, but it has been critical to continue learning. In my current role, I don't find myself doing many calculations or using design equations on a daily basis; However, when I do need to use them, those skills I developed in college are critical.
