I may soon be interviewed for a reliability engineer job at Hess Corporation, but not sure how I should start preparing. Got any suggestions?

It is important to have an understanding of what type of equipment you will be looking after, that could be fixed equipment such as tanks and vessels, or rotating equipment such as pumps and compressors. Once you have identified the equipment type start asking yourself what type of maintenance would improve the reliability of this equipment, and what are some common failures that you could help the company overcome. Try to think of an example that you could share demonstrating your ability to see a problem and improve upon the situation. As with most industrial companies, Hess puts a large focus on safety so anytime you can share an experience or emphasize how important it is for you to be in an atmosphere where safe work practices are followed it will go a long ways.
