I liked that KPMG is a well-known and well respected company, so I was able to leverage my internship to create other opportunities. I disliked the work-life balance and the work I was assigned to. However, to be fair, I spent the entire summer on the same client, which was a 6/30 year end in an industry I did not have any interest in. Most of the interns performed more engaging activities and work throughout their internship.
I enjoyed the culture of the firm as well as my co-workers. They taught me a great deal during my short time working this past summer. There were not many aspects of the job I disliked (summer is one of the lightest times of the year for auditors in regards to work load). The hours weren’t bad nor was the work I was given. I felt capable of doing most tasks and if I had any questions there was always someone to help. I’ve accepted a full-time position with them this upcoming summer due to my positive experience.
