Former Co-op/Intern Student - Nuclear Steam Supply Systems Engineering at FirstEnergy Corp.

The interns all have different projects that they will be tasked with during the summer. There are several small projects they will give you, such as data trending or different inspections, and also at least one large project that you will spend a majority of your time working on. Upon arrival to work, it's a good idea to spend the first bit of your morning catching up on emails and the status of the plant. Each separate engineering unit has their own morning meeting 3 to 5 times a week, and after that you usually spend your time working on your projects or assisting the full-time engineers in different tasks they may ask you for help with. They do a great job of incorporating you into your engineering unit and essentially treating you like a full-time engineer.
