I felt very prepared to take on a career in teaching as a Fine Arts major. Learning to stay on top of your project deadlines, in addition to giving yourself deadlines as a professional artists, helped me to stay organized and focused during each semester. I also used creative problem solving skills I had learned in my major to help me adapt projects to the range of students I would teach each semester. Working as a Teaching Assistant in graduate school was the most beneficial experience that directly prepared me for running my own classroom and designing my own projects.
