It is hard work, but rewarding. You are an integral part of the ship's operations as a nuclear technician on a US vessel. As you spend more time as a EMN, you will develop strong relationships with your colleagues and become a leader within your command.
You will stand watch on your ship to monitor behaviors of equipment on the boat, making sure everything is within specifications. Those components that are not within specifications will be resolved by you, the technician! As a leader, those situations can also be used as a lesson you can teach to your newer shipmates.
There are many things that will form your day as a EMN in the US Navy. What's important to take away from my experience is that the time you spend in the Navy will pay off and you will appreciate your time spent there, no matter how hard it gets.
