Animal experience is very important. Years beforehand I had internships with horses and a vet where I got experience working first hand with large and injured animals. This is the sole reason I was considered for a position. Any animal experience however is very important. If you've owned dogs or been around animals at all base your responses on those experiences. I started off within the company in sales and then transferred to the animal care team on stranded animal rescue then to zoological assistant. Be open to any opportunity and don't be afraid to not get it your first try. I interviewed 13 different times before I got my first job with the company.
