Former Hospital Administrator at United States Navy
almost 3 years ago
It is indescribable almost. Officers within a hospital do not have a standard day given that a vast assortment of tasks are always coming down the pipeline. For example, I was working on an pediatric ICU MEDEVAC in which my LT (MSC Officer) was lead on. At the same time he was dealing with Joint Commission Inspection and a Medical Inspector General inspection. At the end of the week we had to suicide ideation MEDEVACs that needed to be completed and LT has the lead on those as well. This an example of a busy/unusual week. Some weeks, work is slow, but this is purely based on context and where one is located. If you were located at the navy hospital in San Diego, one's worked load would increase substantially.
