Former Personal Trainer Assistant Director at LA Fitness
over 1 year ago
Mornings start with a conference call - sometimes the regional director will make some announcements and ask how each gym is doing. Everyone will then take turns giving progress reports. If all is good, just say how many new accounts you signed up or if you have a potential deal lined up you can mention it and ask for assistance in how to close that deal. After that, you either have a training appointment or make calls. If you are making calls, you are calling incoming clients to remind them of their appointment and cold calling new members to ask them to schedule an appointment. When clients come for an appointment, you go through preliminary info, get measurements/goals, and then take them through a workout. After the workout, you take them back to your desk and present the value of a trainer and find them the best option for them to get started today with a training package. In spare time, you are also motivating and training incoming personal training salespeople, and assisting the director as they make the trainer schedules. The bottomline of this job is sales.
