I was in Coverage during my summer at MS. Within Coverage, HR practitioners partner with managers and employees within different divisions to deliver support and advice related to the management of human capital. This area is sometimes called HR Business Partners in other firms. Analyst Responsibilities: Field general HR inquiries regarding policies and procedures, including: payroll, employee verifications, CARCO background checks, vacation days, immigration, benefits Gain exposure to: employee relations issues, conflict resolution and consultation with Legal, including participation in internal investigations and providing recommendations for resolution Assist generalists in rolling out Firmwide training projects as well as talent and diversity initiatives Utilize proprietary systems to pull employee information; assist with maintaining accurate employee records related to new hires, transfers, terminations and job code changes Help coordinate the departure process for employees, learn all aspects of the exit process Support the “year-end” process (Performance Evaluation, Compensation, and Promotion) Other areas of the HR Analyst program include Talent, Compensation, Benefits and HR Operations. Analysts in these areas may do a variety of other work related to recruitment, rewards, operationalizing HR processes, helping to manage and improve employee engagement and healthcare programs, etc.
