I would definitely say yes. You have a chance to get a full time offer after the internship (I don't know the stats on that, but if you do well throughout the summer, you'll be fine), and Facebook is always a great add to the resume. In addition, you learn so many variable things throughout the summer that you'll be sure to have plenty to talk about in any interview. I haven't started my career yet, so I don't have all the answers, but I do feel pretty prepared. It doesn't hurt that I made friends during the internship too, so I'm starting with backup.
I can't really compare it to other internships (except Google and I liked this better). In terms of starting a full time career, I think this is a great place because you have huge flexibility in choosing teams. Mobility between teams is easy so you don't really ever get 'stuck' on a team you're not enjoying.
I'd definitely recommend Facebook for someone who just starts a software engineer career.
