Data Analytics combines critical/analytical skills i.e. understanding a problem, doing a sample-exhaustive search for the source of the problem and articulating a potential solution, AND technical skills like basic statistical skills, data collection, data cleaning, data querying and data visualization. I'd suggest starting off with the following skills/classes: Intro to Data Analysis (online or QAC 201), Intro/Intermediate SQL, Intro/Intermediate Excel, Statistics 101, Intro to Python/R.
