I would say the biggest attribute a candidate would need to succeed at Deloitte is a positive attitude! Be open to trying new projects and attempting to finish a work paper. If mistakes are made, you’re going to learn from those mistakes. When you’re learning something new, you’re going to have set-backs, but you need to take everything with a grain of salt. Learn from your mistakes, and have a positive attitude about it! Being negative is not going to help anyone, and you can always control your attitude.
So the internship program is designed in such a way that will provide you unlimited learning curve. You don’t have to be expert at anything. You are here to learn. Just a basic accounting and auditing knowledge that will help you understand the client and its financial data. A decent knowledge of microsoft excel will really ease the whole process. So if you think you want to succeed big time in the working portion of internship, get your hands on microsoft excel.
