You need to highlight your writing ability and communication skills. You should have something published to display. I’ve written several law review articles that have gotten me jobs in the AML space, specifically one of the regulation of Islamic financial services. In my experience, there’s very little “team work” involved in this role, but clownish managers will probably value such a skill anyway as long as you can realistically demonstrate it or at least talk a good game about it. They won’t ask you to demonstrate Excel competence, since the people in HR usually don’t know the first thing about the jobs they’re recruiting for and managers don’t have time to do it in every interview.
