What does the training for this position entail? What are some of the challenges that new hires face as they transition into the firm? What resources are available to me when I need help managing or completing a task? Is there anything that I can do outside of the workplace to improve my performance?

Former Legal Assistant at King County Bar Association

When I interviewed for the Legal Assistant position at King County Bar Association, I asked specific questions about the daily responsibilities of a Legal Assistant, particularly, how often would I interact with clients and what types of documents and legal proceedings I be able to assist with or sit in on. Next, I asked what skills they thought would be most beneficial to develop and bring to the position. During my interview, I indicated an interest in litigation so I asked specific questions about how often the Housing Justice Project's cases went to court and in what capacity the Legal Assistants could shadow or assist attorneys in court.
