Ask about the recruiter's company--what do they do, why do they do it, and what kind of work the copy editor does specifically? Ask about how the work is done and what skills are necessary--do they edit on the computer or on paper, do they utilize proofreading marks, do they use certain editing programs, etc. What about the pay, the hours, how many days a week? Does the work have to be done at the workplace, or can it be done from home/online?

Some good questions to ask could be, what are industry standards that are expected everywhere? What are some company specific standards? How do you edit a piece of content to clarify ideas without changing the voice of the author? What’s the best way to get familiar with industry standards?
