Former Medical Director - at Hillside Health Care International
almost 3 years ago
Each day I was the supervising physician for 4-8 medical, PA or NP students who either saw Belizean patients at the permanent primary clinic in Eldrigeville or on alternative days we went to a remote village in a mobile clinic to see patients in these mostly Mayan villages. In the afternoons, I assisted the clinic director in administrative duties such as clinical issues, personnel issues or recruiting volunteer professionals. Once or twice per week we would have a manager's meeting to discuss issues at Hillside and I was responsible for 1-2 lectures every 4 weeks for students. On each Friday, I led the student reflection and learning seminar for 2-3 hours. I had no responsibilities on the weekend and was able to travel during those times around Belize.
