Civil Engineering Intern at Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc.

The major experiences I would highlight for an internship would be relevant coursework or experience to whatever position you are looking at. For myself, I highlighted my courses involving water resources and the other exercises I did that helped me learn. Additionally, I would recommend pursuing unique and different job opportunities while in school. I was able to assist at the USGS and I feel like that experience really bolstered the legitimacy of my resume.

I would highlight any relevant experiences with projects or internships that relate to the mission statement and overall commitment of the County to Public Service. I would also emphasize experience in teams and how you work within them.

Highlight any experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydrology, waste water treatment, potable water distribution, drainage area delineation, structures, and Microsoft Excel experience. Bring examples of your work/school projects to interview to show them (not just Civil 3D).
