Former Certified Personal Trainer - National Strength and Conditioning Association at Royal Family Kids Camp

These are two separate questions. I am a certified personal trainer, however I did not fill that capacity at Royal Family Kids Camp (RFKC). At RFKC I was an individual counselor for four years and the Dean of Personnel for one year. The camps' goal is to create positive memories for children who have experienced abuse. In preparation for an interview with an organization of this nature I would encourage anyone to do their research and know themselves. What I mean by this is know the mission, values and structure of the organization so that you can ask thoughtful questions. Also, know why you are applying for the position. What is your personal and/or professional interest in working with children, specifically with children who have experienced abuse. This is an extremely vulnerable population and I believe you need to know exactly why you want to work with this specific population. If you come prepared in these two areas and communicate well, have a resume and some experience working with children you will be well on your way to a successful interview.
