7th-8th Math Teacher

SUMMARY: Provides an educational program for pupils assigned to him/her and performs adjunct duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

• Valid California Teaching Credential • Bachelor’s Degree

 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES REGISTRATIONS: 

• CLAD or equivalent • Must meet ESSA requirements 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• A teacher shall become familiar with policies and procedures that relate to his/her school duties. Assigned activities shall be conducted in conformity with Board policies and administrative regulations, the rules and regulations of State Department of Education, and the State law as found in the Education Code.

• A teacher shall instruct students in accordance with the course of study currently adopted by the Loomis Union Board of Trustees. 

• A teacher shall continue to keep abreast of new developments and trends in his/her teaching field and shall seek out creative educational practices and programs designed to improve the quality of the educational experiences of his/her students. 

• A teacher shall provide for continuous evaluation of pupil progress in academic, social, and attitudinal areas consistent with teacher, school, and district established objectives, goals, and policies and shall adjust the educational program when need is evidenced. 

• A teacher shall maintain classroom control as follows: Student control is conducting learning activities in a manner which will allow effective learning to take place. The District and the individual school administrators share responsibility with teachers by providing the organization, materials, and school climate that contribute to good student control. Individual school staffs will cooperatively develop more definitive statements for student control. 

• A teacher shall maintain a suitable learning environment as defined: Suitable learning environment is a condition which enables students to carry out learning activities in a healthful, pleasant, and efficient environment. Individual school staffs will cooperatively develop more definitive statements for suitable learning environment.  

• A teacher shall continuously self-evaluate his professional effectiveness in areas of curriculum, classroom performance, and teacher-student, staff and community relationships. 

• A teacher shall perform record-keeping tasks as required. 

• A teacher shall confer regularly with personnel who share responsibility for educational program of his/her students; e.g., support personnel, other teachers, and special staff. 

• A teacher shall plan and coordinate activities of para-professionals and/or volunteers as necessary. • A teacher shall maintain effective communication with parents. 

• A teacher shall perform duty assignments as decided by principal on an equitable basis. 

• A teacher shall maintain a high degree of integrity at all times in relations with pupils, staff members, parents, and the community as defined in the Code of Ethics of the Teaching Profession as defined in Title V, California Administrative Code. • A teacher shall assist in maintaining student control in all phases of the school program.
