Recruiting Coordinator

Recruiting Coordinator (Human Resources) part-time

Interviews will be conducted as applications are received.  This position will remain open until filled.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

This position assists and serves as the contact in the areas of talent acquisition for Police and Fire sworn positions. Exercises discretion and judgment on human resources administrative procedures, and answers inquiries as appropriate. Specifically, this position performs oversight and management of multiple professional contracts associated with the hiring and promotional processes for sworn personnel.  

 

JOB DUTIES:
1.    Facilitates the entire talent acquisition and promotional processes for the Fire and Police Departments for sworn personnel following collective bargaining agreements, village ordinances, state law, and human resources best practices.  Coordinates with departmental staff for ceremony scheduling and onboarding.
2.    Assists in the talent acquisition process for all village positions.
3.    Assists in managing service contracts required for talent acquisition and promotional processes.  
4.    Assists in the creation and development of talent acquisition marketing efforts.
5.    Represents the village in marketing and talent acquisition events.
6.    Creates electronic files of various confidential and non-confidential information for personnel and medical records.  Ensures these files are all maintained by the village’s document retention policy.
7.    Attends meetings convened by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, takes minutes, tracks attendance, and prepares agendas.  Posts agendas and approved minutes through the village document management system.  Responsible for proper public notification for all public meetings as required by law. 
8.    Receives phone calls; arranges meetings, conferences, and interviews; makes reservations as necessary.  Provides administrative office support as needed, both on the phone and in person.
9.    Enters, tracks, and coordinates purchases for budget accounts.  Reviews invoices for accuracy, obtains receiving information, and processes for payment.  
10.    Performs other duties as assigned.


SCHEDULE:
The position typically works an average of 19 hours per week.  This position is required to be in the office three days/week between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to flex time because of required evening meetings.  Evening meetings are typically once per month.  The schedule varies depending on workload.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    Minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalency of college hours working towards a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field.  
2.    A minimum of three years of experience in human resources, recruiting, or a related field.
3.    Proficiency with current computer technology, job-specific software, and customer service systems.

 

 

STARTING SALARY RANGE:  $38.75 - $43.11  per hour working up to 19 hours per week.  Salary dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $38.75 - $56.18.
