Membership Coordinator

Purpose: The Woman’s Club, based in the heart of Richmond, Virginia, educates, inspires, and engages today’s women by offering exposure to new ideas and new people. Founded in 1894, the Club has been committed to downtown Richmond for over 125 years. The Membership Coordinator works with the Executive Director, Membership Committee and Program Committee to ensure a quality member and program experience. The Membership Coordinator maintains accurate records, documents, and schedules that allow for the professional management of membership and programs, including processing member applications and records and coordinating programs and events. 

The Membership Coordinator is a multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. The role includes coordinating with and assisting other staff and members by providing professional and engaging support by phone, mail, email, and in person and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the organization.

This position reports to the Executive Director, and is full time.
 

Duties including but not limited to the following:

  • Provide excellent customer service to existing and potential members to enhance their experience and encourage loyalty.
  • Work with the Executive Director to coordinate the Club speaker series and Club events for membership, including assisting and managing volunteers, program committee, special events committee, and vendors.
  • Process member applications, maintain accurate records and manage member data.
  • Maintain files for all documents, including program and event details, membership communications, current membership status, yearbook production, and other documents as needed.
  • Support the Membership Committee to maintain a diverse recruitment pipeline and follow up with potential members in a timely manner.
  • Review and provide membership information and materials to members and potential members – including but not limited to dues mailings, membership applications, event registration, yearbook orders, and other information as necessary.
  • Communicate pertinent membership information to staff and committees as needed.
  • Maintain and update membership and Club information in database and on website and all other appropriate locations.
  • Work with Club and Foundation staff to support events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
     

Qualifications:

  • Two+ years of working experience in an organization providing quality customer service
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Event Planning and organizational skills
  • Positive, professional and engaging attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to take and execute requests from others
  • Able to work comfortably with other staff as part of a team
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office
  • Attention to detail
  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others
     

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary $45,000 or commensurate with experience
  • Competitive benefits package, including health, dental and 401K 
  • Federal Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non- exempt
