Part-Time Marketing Coordinator

Career Center is seeking a Part-Time Marketing Coordinator 

The Marketing Coordinator will guide the vision for promoting and increasing awareness of Career Center services. This includes developing and managing a brand identity and guidelines, within the overall Missouri State University brand.  The Marketing Coordinator will oversee the Career Center’s communication efforts including web and social media presence as well as digital and print media.

  • Lead the Career Center marketing team (including student workers) in the maintenance and enhancement of a holistic Career Center brand
  • Manage all Department social media platforms including monitoring engagement, creating opportunities to increase engagement, and promoting services and events
  • Collaborate with Career Center staff to develop and implement marketing strategies for events, services, and promotion of external stakeholders
  • Coordinate the development of all print and digital marketing materials including advertisements, blogs, career development resources, and Department promotional items
  • Create or oversee creation of digital content including but not limited to videos and photos to promote Department services and events.

Education: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, journalism, or closely related field is required. Academic experience such as a minor or certificate in graphic design, film/videography is preferred. Coursework in technical or professional writing preferred.
 

Experience: Experience in marketing, promotions, advertising and/or related field is required. Knowledge of current marketing practices and trends including promotions, advertising, print and digital media, social media, use of photography and videography, and audience analysis is required. Previous supervision or management experience is preferred.

Skills: The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and meet deadlines, and work independently are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Strong decision-making skills are required. Knowledge of search engine optimization and digital marketing tools such as Google AdWords is preferred. Knowledge of design programs such as but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is preferred.

This position has the option of being a hybrid position (in office and remote).
