REMOTE Game Developer / Programmer

As a Game Developer Intern, you’ll work directly with our design and production teams to code gameplay mechanics, develop core systems, and optimize player experience using the latest game engines. You’ll have the chance to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) to drive smarter NPCs, automated testing, and personalized player interactions.

What You'll Do:
- Develop gameplay systems, physics, logic, and user interfaces
- Collaborate with game designers and artists to translate concepts into functional, interactive features
- Integrate AI and machine learning modules into gameplay, simulation logic, and game personalization
- Build code that supports multiplayer functionality for esports and training scenarios
- Test and debug to ensure performance across multiple platforms
- Work on games for desktop, mobile, browser, and VR
- Contribute to continuous improvement in our game development pipeline
You’ll Learn To:
- Apply object-oriented programming in game architecture
- Use AI models to enhance player experience and automate gameplay systems
- Understand client-server architecture for real-time multiplayer environments
- Prototype educational gameplay loops based on real-world training objectives
- Balance performance with high-fidelity features across devices
- Collaborate using Git, project management tools, and sprint cycles
Requirements:
- Proficiency in at least one major game development language (C#, C++, Python, etc.)
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
- Passion for games, simulations, and emerging technology
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Engineering, or a related field
- Available for weekly virtual meetings:
- Mondays @ 9:00 AM MST
- Wednesdays @ 10:00 AM MST
- Fridays @ 8:00 AM MST
- (Thursdays @ 9:00 AM MST for SkillBridge participants)
Bonus Skills (Not Required):
- Experience with multiplayer networking
- Integration of LLMs or AI APIs into game applications
- VR/AR development experience
- Familiarity with esports systems or competitive balancing
