Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic, multi-talented Intern to lead Business Development, Marketing, and Operational Support functions in close collaboration with the President and technical team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced small business environment, enjoys variety, and brings a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across defense, aerospace, and commercial markets that align with Cyan’s advanced IR camera technologies.
  • Develop and manage marketing materials, technical briefs, and customer presentations that clearly communicate product value and differentiation.
  • Lead or support proposal efforts for SBIRs, BAAs, and RFPs, ensuring responsiveness and compliance with U.S. government requirements.
  • Maintain CRM systems, track business development pipelines, and coordinate outreach campaigns to grow brand visibility and customer engagement.
  • Represent Cyan Systems at industry conferences, technical symposia, and customer meetings as a confident spokesperson and product advocate.
  • Support company operations, including contracting, invoicing, reporting, and coordination with government program offices and prime contractors.
  • Assist the President with strategic planning, budget development, and program oversight for internal R&D and external projects.
  • Bridge communication between technical staff and external stakeholders to ensure clear deliverables, effective feedback, and opportunity follow-up.
  • Contribute to product roadmap and commercialization strategy by incorporating customer feedback, competitor analysis, and market trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in business development, marketing, or operations, preferably in a technology or government-facing company.
  • Demonstrated experience in proposal writing, customer interfacing, and marketing content creation.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn basic accounting, contracts, and compliance processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfort speaking with both engineers and executives.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a passion for innovation.
  • U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • Interns pursuing related degrees will be considered for part-time positions.
