This position is headquartered at our Milwaukee Children and Families Office (635 N. 26th Street) and may have the option to work hybrid for up to two days per week. This schedule may change based on training or operational needs. Employees need to report to the 635 N 26 St. Milwaukee, WI office on their first day for onboarding and orientation.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Administrative Services Section Manager, the Open Records-Open Government Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the work of responding to and coordinating requests for open records which DMCPS is responsible for and for working to ensure compliance with other requirements of open government including open meeting laws. This position will work with staff and management to develop trainings and policies related to responding to open records requests, assist with responding to open records requests on behalf of the division and monitor responses and ensure timeliness as expected by law. This position provides resources, technical assistance, and support to the QOB and division staff, related to response and process of records and related requests including background checks.

SALARY: The classification title for this position is Records/Forms Management Specialist. The starting salary is between $23.00 and $30.69 per hour ($47,840 and $63,835 annually), depending on qualifications. Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment. Pay for current state employees who are transferring will be determined based upon the pay on transfer rules (higher level duties or equity) as outlined in the compensation plan in effect at the time of appointment.
The pay schedule/range is 07-04. A one-year probationary period may be required.
Job Details: Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.

Qualifications:
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
- Experience managing confidential records (requests, records retention, destruction schedules, etc)
- Experience utilizing a database to track records and files
- Experience providing training and/or technical assistance to colleagues and/or partners
- Experience handling multiple issues and questions from several program areas, internal departments, and customers
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
Well-qualified applicants will have:
- Experience utilizing eWiSACWIS or other similar automated data systems to research and pull business information for internal/external requests
- Experience interpreting and applying laws, WI Administrative Rules, and/or policies to ensure compliance
- Experience developing processes or policies to enhance and/or support organizational goals
- Experience serving as the records and forms agency representative or subject matter expert
