Electrical Technician

Summary:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment to ensure uninterrupted production. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance (TPM), and equipment modification, with a primary focus on programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The Electrical Technician may also perform mechanical or electrical work as needed, based on qualifications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and modify electrical equipment, including PLC systems
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure proper equipment functionality
  • Collaborate with external vendors for advanced maintenance tasks
  • Document all repairs and maintenance activities
  • Execute and uphold the preventive maintenance schedule
  • Ensure workplace safety and compliance with safety standards
  • Monitor and interpret data from measuring devices
  • Perform tasks in clean-room and climate-controlled environments
  • Complete assigned projects, such as wiring new sensors or preparing materials
  • Carry out physical activities to include lifting, climbing ladders, assembling parts and components
  • Maintain 5S & 3R standards:
     5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
     3R: Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Follow LGESMI cleaning SOPs during downtime to ensure workplace cleanliness
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational Certificate or associate degree preferred.
  • Journeyman license preferred.


Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in electrical or maintenance work
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Competence in using computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Active learning, critical thinking, and decision-making under pressure
  • Physical ability to lift and handle materials 50lbs and perform various tasks
  • Technical communication skills to relay information to Utility Engineer and suppliers
  • Experience in a clean-room or dry-room production environment working with automated equipment is a plus
