Part-Time Tax Processor

Vander Ploeg, Bergakker, and Associates, a public accounting firm located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a part-time tax processor for the upcoming tax season. 

Candidates should have a strong interest in accounting or finance and be detail oriented. This position is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. 

Hours are flexible, but would need to be available approximately 3-4 hours per day between 8am and 5pm, Monday-Friday. The intern will need to be available to work for approximately 5-10 hours per week in early February and up to 20 hours per week from late February through April 15.

The person selected for this internship can expect to be involved with the following tasks over the course of the internship:

·    Processing of tax return packets in a neat and orderly fashion to be delivered to clients

·    Scanning documents into paperless file system

·    Learning basics of individual income tax forms

·    Learning basics of software used to prepare individual income tax returns

·    Resolve follow up issues/questions raised during processing

·    Assisting staff members and partners with various tasks and assignments
