Superintendent/Principal at Canyon Elementary School
Under the direction of the CESD Board, the Principal Superintendent will provide leadership in the following areas:
Education -The Canyon School curriculum emphasizes project based, inquiry learning, integration of visual and performing arts, and natural science.
Staff - Leadership should be by example and in a collaborative mode, with mutual respect and clear and positive communication.
Finance - Supporting the CBO, the Superintendent must be knowledgeable and conversant in all areas of the budget, maintaining solvency and guiding the CESD Board and the Education Foundation.
Facility - The Canyon School building is the home of our school and district office, and serves as the de facto community center for the town of Canyon. The grounds, a redwood grove on the banks of the Upper San Leandro Creek, are an ideal place for outdoor learning.
Communications - The Superintendent is the communications officer and is responsible for keeping the school community, residential community, CESD Board, and all relevant outside agencies informed on a timely basis.
Legal - The Superintendent, under guidance of the CESD Board, acts as liaison regarding all legal affairs of the District
This position is 100% FTE of 220 days.
