About:
The Office of International Affairs at IU Indianapolis is committed to fostering global partnerships and promoting initiatives that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). We are seeking a motivated and dedicated junior or senior student enrolled at IU Indianapolis to join our team as a Special Projects Assistant under International Partnerships.
The OIA Special Projects Assistant will support OIA’s pursuit of its strategic priorities and the comprehensive internationalization of the IUPUI campus.
The Special Projects Assistant plays a particularly important role in helping OIA advance new and existing partnerships for the IU Indianapolis campus, which involves research, preparing reports, and stakeholder communication to build a network of staff and faculty, as well as scheduling programs and meetings for international and campus partners.
Further, the Special Projects Assistant will undertake data research on faculty involvement in global issues and track data of scholarly activities to further global grant development campus internationalization, strategic planning, and partnership development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to identify potential universities worldwide for partnerships, focusing on their impact on society and alignment with UN SDGs.
- Collaborate directly with the Director for International Partnerships to prepare partnership documentation and facilitate communication with prospective partners.
- Establish connections with campus leadership and various department leaders to strengthen collaboration opportunities.
- Support international projects on campus by conducting research and identifying additional initiatives.
- Organize and host in-person and virtual talks and information sessions with academics and scholars from international partner universities.
- Design graphics and visual materials to enhance the quality and appeal of sessions and presentations.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior at IU Indianapolis.
- Proficient basic computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Basic design skills to create graphics for presentations and sessions.
- Creative mindset with a passion for research and international collaboration.
- Confidence and ability to initiate and maintain connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
