Latinas On the Verge of Excellence - L.O.V.E. Mentoring

Programs Internship Position 2025-2026

L.O.V.E. empowers young women to excel academically and personally through positive role modeling and health education. We are seeking motivated Program Interns to assist with the development and implementation of our mentoring programs during the 2025-2026 academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, facilitate, and support mentoring sessions in NYC public schools and community programs.
  • Assist with organizational projects, data collection, and entry.
  • Communicate with staff, school liaisons, and community partners.
  • Represent L.O.V.E. at meetings, events, and partner gatherings.
  • Support volunteer mentors by providing guidance and fostering their professional growth.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development related to youth work.

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel across NYC to schools and community centers.
  • Strong communication, organizational, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
  • Passionate about working with young women from diverse backgrounds.
  • Committed to leadership and mentorship development.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).

Schedule

  • Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week during the full academic year.
  • Ideal availability: two weekdays between 9 am – 5:30 pm.
  • Preferred start: mid-August 2025 for training before the September program launch.
