Sales Development Representative

Job Title: Bulbs.com Sales Development Representative, Entry Level 

Location: Worcester, MA (not remote)

Our commercial lighting distribution company is seeking an Entry-Level Sales Development Representative to join our team in Worcester, MA.

In this role, you'll be instrumental in driving our sales efforts by identifying and securing appointments for our Commercial Lighting Specialists (CLS) with key decision-makers. You'll gain exposure to various business facets beyond sales, providing you with a holistic understanding of how a successful company operates.

What You'll Do:

As a Sales Development Representative, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Following up on web-generated inquiries and orders to identify key decision-makers and schedule appointments for our Commercial Lighting Specialists.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date contact information within our CRM system to facilitate effective customer outreach.
  • Quickly developing a strong command of commercial lighting products, including LEDs, controls, and other energy-efficient solutions, as well as an understanding of competitors and applications. This knowledge will be crucial for identifying client needs and building lasting relationships.
  • Proficiently utilizing technology such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Outlook, Excel, MS Word, the Bulbs.com website, our back-office systems, internet search engines, and online industry tools.

What We're Looking For :

  • Education: An Associate's Degree is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Sales experience is a plus, with phone sales experience being highly preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Good writing and verbal communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet.
    • Solid high school math skills.
    • A competitive spirit and a strong desire to succeed.
    • Familiarity with CRM, lighting, or technical knowledge is a plus, along with an aptitude for learning new technologies.

Your Career Path & Compensation:

The average compensation for this role, including salary and bonuses, is $55,000. This position offers a clear and exciting career trajectory. Individuals who master the SDR role typically transition into a commissioned Commercial Lighting Specialist (CLS) position within 12-24 months. The CLS role offers a higher base salary and uncapped commission potential, with a clear path to six-figure compensation within 3-4 years for high-energy, "can-do" candidates.
