Office Overview: The Fitness Zone Fitness Assistant is responsible for promoting member wellness and engagement by supervising the Fitness Zone, conducting fitness and body composition assessments, delivering wellness coaching and one-on-one personal training, providing equipment orientations, leading group fitness classes, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming facility environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •
Member Experience (40%): The Fitness Assistant is expected to greet and engage members warmly upon arrival, conduct tours for new or prospective members, respond to inquiries regarding facility amenities and fitness services, encourage compliance with established gym etiquette policies, and provide front desk coverage as needed while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and efficiency.
• Member Wellness (50%): The Fitness Assistant is responsible for conducting fitness and body composition assessments, designing individualized workout plans, delivering oneon-one personal training sessions, providing equipment demonstrations to enhance member understanding, and coordinating member fitness competitions. Plan, lead, and deliver safe and engaging group fitness classes tailored to various fitness levels. Ensure a welcoming, motivating, and non-competitive environment while supervising participants for safety.
• Facility Support (10%): The Fitness Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of equipment and workout areas, assisting with opening and closing procedures such as powering equipment and setting up TVs, and ensuring that all equipment is safe and properly positioned.
Tools and Equipment Used: Computer, phone, exercise equipment, assessment tools, scheduling software, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams. Experience Gained in this Role /

• Community Contributor – Engage with local residents and promote inclusive wellness opportunities that strengthen community ties. Qualifications:
• Federal Work Study qualification required.
• Enrolled in or graduated from a Bachelor’s program in Exercise Science or related field (preferred)
• Experience in fitness, personal training, or related areas a plus • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate proper use of fitness equipment
• Tech-savvy and capable of learning new software tools
• Culturally competent and able to work with diverse populations
• Bilingual skills are a plus Work Environment: Fast-paced, member-focused fitness environment. Noise level may vary; role involves physical activity, including demonstrating exercise movements, standing for long periods, and lifting or moving equipment.
