This position is for school year 2025-2026.
The successful external (non-FEA) applicant will receive a $2,000 signing bonus following the first 30 days of his/her contract.
Job Summary:
School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services. They help schools improve academic achievement, support diverse learners, promote positive behavior and mental health, create safe positive school climates, and help strengthen school-family partnerships.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
Master’s degree or higher with a major emphasis in school psychology.
Have or be eligible for an Alaska Type C special services certificate with an applicable endorsement for school psychology.
Experience in administering, scoring, and interpreting a wide range of psychological tests
Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations; the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP’s); and experience translating evaluation data into concrete educational prescriptions.
Must hold and maintain a valid State of Alaska driver’s license and the ability to receive and maintain access to military bases.
