Professional Engineer

R. Joe Harris & Associates is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to impactful infrastructure developments.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee civil engineering projects from planning to completion.

Prepare, review, and approve design plans, reports, and calculations.

Perform site development, roadway, drainage, grading, and utility design.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.

Conduct engineering analyses and develop cost-effective solutions.

Coordinate with clients, contractors, and government agencies.

Oversee permitting and approval processes.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

✔ Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required). South Carolina and/or North Carolina preferred.
✔ 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design and project management.
✔ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
✔ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar engineering software.
✔ Strong knowledge of hydrology, site development, grading, and stormwater management.
✔ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
✔ Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
✔ Valid driver's license and willingness to conduct site visits as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

➕ Experience in transportation, municipal, or land development projects.
➕ Knowledge of permitting processes and environmental regulations.
➕ Strong leadership experience and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
