Landscape Architect

R. Joe Harris & Associates is a civil engineering and land surveying firm located in Tega Cay, South Carolina. We provide our services throughout the Charlotte and York County, SC region. We are currently seeking a Landscape Architect to join our dynamic team and contribute to the design and planning of projects. The role requires expertise in site planning, design, sustainability, and a strong understanding of land surveying principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead landscape architecture design effort for a variety of projects including municipal, residential, and commercial.
  • Conduct site analysis and inventory surveys in collaboration with our land surveying team to assess site conditions, opportunities, and any constraints.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed landscape designs.
  • Work closely with our engineers and surveyors as well as planners and environmental consultants to integrate landscape designs with other project elements.
  • Incorporate sustainable design principles, green infrastructure, and low-impact development strategies into landscape solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences,
  • Oversee multiple projects and ensure they are completed on time.
  • Ensure compliance with local zoning codes, environmental regulations, and other standards in all design and construction phases.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's in Landscape Architecture or related field.
  • Registered Landscape Architect
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, land surveying techniques, and site development applications.
  • Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD and GIS applications.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and low-impact development.
  • Strong technical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal landscape design codes and regulations.
