Design Community Research & Marketing Intern (Short Term Project)

About Us: Watchet Lane is a vintage and antique sourcing brand based in Westlake Village, CA. We specialize in sourcing and curating vintage and antique furniture, vessels, and decor from around the world, that bring soul and story to modern spaces. 

The Opportunity: We’re looking for a marketing-savvy student to help us research and map the interior design community in Southern California. You’ll support our outreach strategy by identifying potential clients and collaborators. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business start-up, entrepreneurship, brand development, market research, and strategic outreach within the luxury interior design industry. 

What You’ll Do: Research local and regional interior designers, stylists, architects, contractors, home stagers, and design firms. Compile and organize a detailed tracker of targets for brand outreach. Assist in identifying key trends, keywords, and positioning language. Occasionally support content or social strategy research (if interested). 

Who you are: 

  • Studying marketing, communications, business, interior design, or a related field.
  • Can research and compile a clear, well-organized list of warm leads, complete with notes on brand alignment and any existing connections
  • Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in creating work that’s polished, intentional, and useful.
  • Communicates with confidence, you are not afraid to share ideas or challenge an existing process or strategy 
  • Knows how to keep things actionable, less about data overload, more about insights that drive decisions
  • A natural interest in interior design, elevated vintage decor, or lifestyle brands is a plus 
  • Is comfortable in Google Sheets and enjoys creating structure

Details: 

  • 5–10 hours per week remote, but must be able to travel to Westlake Village, CA on occasion. 
  • Start date flexible 
  • $18 per hour
