Requirements:
• School Counselor License & Certification
• Approved by the State Department of Education as a School Social Worker or School Counselor
• Prefer one year of experience in school counseling, which can include a counseling internship.

Responsibilities/Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the requirements of state and federal mandates that directly affect school counselors.
• Provide direct services to individual students for emotional and behavioral support.
• Participate in problem-solving teams or assist individual teachers to consider student-specific data, brainstorm possible strategies and interventions, and develop a plan of action to address a student-specific need.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.
• Knowledge about best practices for engaging students and families with emotional and behavioral concerns.
• Familiarity with tiered systems of school-wide Positive Behavior Support practices.
• Experience with MTSS preferred.
