The Quality Assurance (QA) Unit supports DWR staff in collection of water-related data that is scientifically sound, consistent, valid, and comparable with data within DWR and with outside agencies and partnerships. This is implemented through the Department’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control Policy for Water-Related Monitoring Programs (WRM 60). The QA Unit is seeking a motivated, creative professional with a passion for data quality, environmental monitoring, and data management. The incumbent will work independently and as part of a team to develop and implement quality assurance and quality control standards and procedures for environmental data collection, data review, and data management. The incumbent will work collaboratively to develop new tools and QA guidance for research and monitoring projects; review quality documents; develop and implement quality assurance trainings; and support quality process assessments. Special Requirements
Possess working knowledge of scientific principles, QA/QC procedures and principles, water quality measurement or reporting techniques, and management of computerized data or record management systems.
Possession of a valid California State driver's license in order to drive to various meetings and project locations. Must be able to traverse uneven terrain for field visits.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
