Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our dynamic team for both Cambridge/Newton/Brookline areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance and a desire to educate and inspire students of all ages. This role involves teaching various dance styles, fostering a love for movement, and promoting creativity in a supportive environment. The Dance Instructor will play a crucial role in developing students' skills, confidence, and appreciation for the art of dance.

Availability: afternoon classes - Preferred Mon, Tues, and/or Thurs but can be flexible

Must have at least one year of teaching experience

Experience with children ages Preschool - 2nd grade is a plus.

Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons tailored to different age groups, including preschools and elementary age.
  • Teach various dance styles, ensuring students grasp fundamental techniques while encouraging personal expression.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and creativity.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to develop performance opportunities and community events.
  • Maintain a safe and organized studio environment, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and cared for.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in dance instruction across various styles (ballet, jazz, hip-hop, etc.).
  • Background in early childhood education or experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles to effectively engage with students of all ages.
  • Familiarity with special education practices is a plus, enabling tailored instruction for diverse learners.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire students effectively.
  • A passion for the arts, particularly dance, coupled with enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring young dancers.
