Job Summary:
The Secretary to the Assistant Principal will provide administrative and clerical support, with a focus on managing student attendance and front-office operations. This in-person role involves answering phones, assisting students and visitors, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting school procedures.

High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent secretarial/office skills

Excellent computer skills
Desired Qualifications:
Post-secondary education
Work experience in a public school office environment
Experience working with Skyward or other student information system
Job Description:
Serve as the primary person processing student attendance records and answering incoming phone calls.
Assist students and visitors in transacting school-related business.
Assist students in seeking medical attention, notify parents in emergencies, and provide students with direction in adhering to school procedures.
Transfer student related messages to counselors and administration.
Shall be proficient in all computer programs currently used by MPS.
Operate all office machines and other office equipment.
Monitor student behavior in the office as directed by the building administrators.
Promote a positive school image when dealing with students and the public.
Maintain confidentiality for all student and school related information.
Perform all other duties assigned by the building administrators.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations.
Work Year and Schedule: Desired start date is August 2025, 203 days annually, 40 hours per week, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Wage: $16.06 to $22.29 hourly
