Scratch Coding Instructor (Onsite: Midlothian, VA 23114, Part-Time)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Scratch Coding Instructor to lead engaging after-school sessions for elementary students (Grades 1–5) in the Midlothian, VA area. This role is perfect for educators, tech enthusiasts, or college students with a background in computer science or education who are passionate about introducing young learners to coding through interactive and creative projects.

Location: Midlothian, VA 23114

Rate: $50–$70/hour (based on experience) - Independent Contractor 1099

Responsibilities:

Teach basic programming concepts using Scratch in a fun, age-appropriate way

Foster creativity and problem-solving through game design and interactive storytelling

Manage a classroom of students independently

Follow a provided curriculum while adapting to students’ learning needs

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

Experience working with children (grades 1–5)

Familiarity with Scratch programming

Strong communication and classroom management skills

Reliable transportation to the Midlothian location

Availability during after-school hours (typically between 2:30–5:30 PM)

Preferred:

Background in education, computer science, or a related field

Previous teaching or tutoring experience
