After School Teacher
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children?! Come join our team at Peirce Extended Day Program in West Newton! We're seeking several creative, enthusiastic, motivated, well-rounded individuals to join our teaching staff. This position begins in late August of 2025 and goes through June 2026. PEDP is an after school enrichment program offering a variety of activities (arts & crafts, sports, games, cooking, music, theater, STEM, field trips, etc.) to children in grades K-5. Applicants must have experience with this age group.

Available Positions:
- 5 days/week Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 2:00 – 6:00 pm AND Wednesdays 11:00am – 6:00 pm
25.75 hours per week (including attendance at Tuesday morning staff meetings)
Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on education and/or experience
Qualifications (not intended to be comprehensive):
- An acceptable review of Criminal Background Record Check (including fingerprinting), Department of Social Services Background Record Check
- Desire to work with children and families
- Ability to deal effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Ability to be on your feet for 45 – 60 minutes during activity times with the children
- Ability to walk distances required for field trips
- Ability to be outside for 30-45 minutes per day determined by the PEDP weather policy
